Someone near Metro Vancouver woke up a few million dollars richer on Sunday.
BCLC has resumed regular Advance Buy purchase options for all lottery games, including Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max, Daily Grand, BC/49, Keno and BC 50/50. A Lotto 6/49 ticket sold in Aldergrove matched all six numbers from Saturday night’s $8 million draw. A second winning ticket was sold in Quebec, so the jackpot will be split into two $4.2 million prizes.
According to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), the odds of winning a Lotto 6/49 jackpot are 1 in 13,983,816.
The matching numbers were 5, 17, 21, 29, 41, and 43.
As well, a ticket purchased in North Vancouver has won the $1 million Guaranteed Prize.
All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to claim their prize, the BCLC said.
The specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased, and the lottery winners’ name will be announced after the they come forward.
In 2020, BC lottery players redeemed more than $106 million in winnings from Lotto 6/49. The nationwide lottery game is drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 7:30 pm PST.

Please sign the front of your ticket with your full signature and completely fill out the back of the original winning ticket (including name, address, and telephone number). Ensure that a daytime phone number is included as the Player Services department may need to contact you for further information.
We also recommend that you make copies of the front and back of the ticket for your records.

You must also include a copy of valid, government-issued, photo identification (e.g. Driver’s Licence or BCID) along with the original ticket. In order to protect your privacy, BCLC recommends that when sending ID, black out any identifying numbers (eg. Driver’s Licence Number). We also highly recommend covering any personal information that isn’t required for the claiming process, including your height, weight, eye and hair colour.
